Delicacy of Diversity , "Idli Tikka"

About recipe -
This recipe is my own innovation to give a delicious twist to our humble idli.

Ingredients Required-
  • For Idli
  • Rolled Oats- 1 and 1/2 cup
  • Urad dal - 1/2 cup
  • Catch Salt - to taste

To Marinate -
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilly sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Catch Salt - to taste
  • Catch Red chilly powder - 1 tsp.
For Garnishing -
  • Fresh coriander leaves.
  • Capsicum - 1 nos.
  • Tomato - 1 nos.
  • Olive Oil - For grilling 1 tbsp.

Method -
  1. Soak Oats and dal in water.
  2. Drain water after an hour and grind them into a fine paste.
  3. Add salt and keep in tight lid pan for fermentation.
  4. When fermented, grease the idli mould and pour batter, steam till its done.
  5. Take out idli from mould and marinate them with above mentioned ingredients, rub the marinated mix them thororughly with on all idlis.
  6. Heat, non-stick tawa and grill marinated idli nicely, grill some tomato and capsicum. slices as well to serve with idli.
  7. Serve hot with mint chutney.
